We live in a world where trained cops can act scared and panic while holding a gun to people's faces, and untrained black people have to remain calm with a cop's gun in their faces.

Defunding the police means taking away funding from a militarised force of the police that harms civilians and protesters with things like smoke bombs, tanks, flash grenades, rubber bullets, and tasers and funnelling the money to social programmes, healthcare, and education for communities.
